One of the most beloved mindfulness teachers is the Zen Master, Thich Nhat Hanh. You can learn more about him and his work by visiting the Plum Village website.

Many years ago Thich Nhat Hanh shared the importance of developing communities of people interested in practicing the dharma (mindfulness teachings) together. These groups are known as sanghas and have spouted up all over the world.

Below is a listing of sanghas that are located in and around Florida.

Here in Florida we are fortunate to be able to learn from Fred Eppsteiner, a much beloved mindfulness teacher, who received the dharma transmission from Thich Nhat Hanh. Blue Ocean Sangha. The Blue Ocean Sangha meets every Sunday at Miami Life Center. To learn more, visit their website by clicking here.

Broward Lotus Sangha. The Broward Lotus Sangha is located at at 7185 Pembroke Road, Pembroke Pines, FL 33023. It meets every Sunday from January to Mid-April and on the 1st, 3rd and 5th Sundays of the month. Between April 15th-December 31st, it meets from 6:30 P.M. to 8:30 P.M. Midweek Mindfulness Sangha in Ft. Myers. The Midweek Mindfulness Sangha meets every Tuesday from 6:30-8:00 pm. It is located at 8660 College Parkway, Suite 160 in Ft. Myers. To learn more, contact Elena Rigg at 239-561-3801 or Mary Robinson by e-mailing her.

Miami Beach Sangha, a mindfulness meditation group that is rooted in the teaching of Zen Master, Thich Nhat Hahn. Located at 3078 Alton Road, it has met on Tuesday evenings from 7:00 to 8:30 for over ten years. This sangha is not presently meeting.

Naples Community of Mindfulness meets every Sunday from 6:30-8:30 pm at Bala Vinyasa Yoga Studio, peacock Court, 6326 Trail Boulevard, Naples, FL 34108. the home of the Florida Community of Mindfulness. To learn more, click here or contact Martina by clicking here.

St. Petersburg Sangha. Located at the Unitarian Universalist Church, located at 719 Arlington Avenue North, St. Petersburg, the sangha meets meets Wednesdays from 7:00-8:45. To learn more, send an email by clicking here.

Tampa Community of Mindfulness. Formerly, known as The Dancing Waters Sangha, this which practices in the engaged Buddhism tradition of Thich Nhat Hanh, The Tampa Sangha meets every Sunday morning from 10:00 am to noon.
